Hannah Skelding is an undergraduate photography student specialising in documentary imagery; recording her observations of human behaviour, rural landscapes and urban surroundings. There is an emphasis on still life alongside her landscapes, forming each series as a narrative to capture the authenticity of her environments. She has recently delved into the studio to master her direction of portraiture to enhance her creative practice as a photographer.

Working primarily with analogue cameras, her work revolves around vibrant colours and natural lighting as the sole subject of her imagery. Exploring a lot with expired film found at car-boot sales and charity shops. The colours and grain often come out unexpected! The unpredictability of each frame has become a fascination, and a defining feature within her photographic series’. She shoots moving image on tape camcorders to record her solo travels as a way create a home-video aesthetic to her documentations, ultimately resulting a balance of personal and impersonal perception for the viewer.
