WARPED AFFECTION ❀
This series, Warped Affection, dissects the tormenting emotions experienced through toxic relationships. Using a combination of colour theory and styling, I used expired film to capture the vibrancy of my personal emotions. Themes of longing, desire, restriction and embarrassment are prominent in each shoot to portray the feelings that come with an anxious attachment style within relationships. From first-hand experiences of the series’ topic, the use of colour is to shift the sensitivity of the subject matter into a playful and hopeful light. The overarching idea within this project is to take note of feelings we want to avoid when finding love; choosing to prioritise ourselves, our desires, and our commitment to self-worth.
